[Solution] This device can perform faster if you connect it to a usb 2.0 port

This is my personal experience. As the title of this webpage reveals, most of the contents on this blog is based on the problems that I faced through out my life while using modern devices, apps, websites etc. I will not leave any of my doubts without clarifying them or without finding a solution. So let’s check out today’s problem and How I solved this.
Yesterday one of my Friend give me his External Hard Disk for giving some software. While Inserting the device, I found a popup that showing “This device can perform faster if you connect it to a usb 2.0 port”. What is Shit is this? I haven’t see this kind of messages after using computers for 4 years. I thought that this might be any problem of the shitty piece that I borrowed.
The real problem started after I tried some other Pendrives, External LAN and even my PC Mouse won’t show exact result after Computer get turned on. Another problem was the rate of transfer speed. It just lowered to 100 KB/Sec. I took a whole night to fill buddy’s Hard Disk to send some Films. With in two days the working of mouse already stopped and my LAN adapter that was connected to USB already dead. No Internet, no entertainment. I lost my whole Mind because my salary got over by buying some personal stuffs if there is any need of repair, I must borrow from friends.
Before going to borrow some amount, I thought that being an MCA student Why can’t I repair it myself? Without spending enough time, I asked my friends LAPTOP and reached home. Check my findings and how I solved the “This device can perform faster if you connect it to a usb 2.0 port” without spending real money.

I found different kinds of ideas to solve the above issue. I tried various Forums, webpages, chat supports to resolve this issue. From there I got various tips to solve the problem. Here is the brief description of tips that I figured out to solve this. You can try the tips one by one until you get satisfied.
Solution 1: Changing the infected port
This is what I tried first before looking online. Change the port and plug your USB to another in the backside and Vice versa. May be the USB port you are using were not capable of handling USB 2.0. This is what we can see in some older Motherboards connected to a latest USB. in My case this doesn’t work. All 4 USb ports show same message. Then I check for another solution.
Solution 2: Check whether you are using some USB extension cables
This is another possible reason. There are many kinds of USB extension cables available on the Market. With different qualities, from different manufacturers and for different prices. You may bought one for cheap price. but It may be capable of low speed. May only support USB 1.0. Even if your port supports 2.0, that piece of cable shows result of 1.0. This may also show the same issue. So check you directly plugged the USB to 2.0 port before going for repair.
Solution 3: Updating USB Drivers [Worked for me]
This is how I got my issue solved. I updated the drivers of my USB. Here is the way of updating the driver software. in normal condition here is the below way to update the drivers.
♦Click Start button.
♦Search for “Device manager
♦Here you can see “Universal Serial Bus Controllers“.
♦Click and you can see “USB 2.0 Root Hub Device
